Kustendil

This nice small town is situated about 30 minutes south of Izvor village, is much 'prettier' than Pernik, easier to get to than Sofia, and altogether a very pleasant place to visit.

Don't expect lots of late night partying or revelry, but enjoy a walk around the very well presented streets and pedestrian areas of the town centre.

The large square was very busy with people out enjoying the sunshine.

Kustendil is a busy town with a very large pedestrianised area.

You can walk by the river.....

...or sit in a street cafe (even in December).

The views of Rila mountain are stunning.

And this mountain is all that is between Kyustendil and Izvor
